Partner Requirements
To deliver a PVDPS engagement, partners must hold a Gold competency in either Management and Virtualization or Server Platform. 

PVDPS Engagement Delivery Skills

Every offering within PVDPS requires different skill levels. The following background and skill sets are the general recommendations for a delivery consultant. Visit the respective engagement pages for skills and certification requirements that correspond to your technology and customer offering.

Technical Skill Requirements

• Windows Server 2008 R2 functionalities
• Directory and network services, such as Active Directory® Directory Service
• DHCP and DNS
• Failover Cluster
• File Services
• Network Services Remote Desktop Services
• Print Services
• Web Server (IIS)
• Windows Deployment Services
• Windows Server Update Services

Microsoft Hyper-V™ R2 architecture and System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 deployment and configuration:

• Virtual machine configuration
• Virtual machine templates
• Familiarity with SCVMM Self-Service Portal v2.1 configuration and use

Basic knowledge on non-Microsoft architectures and facilities designs:

• Hardware components (servers)
• SAN and networking components

System Center architecture, deployment and policies:

• System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 architecture, deployment and configuration
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server® 2008 configuration
  General security and best practices knowledge
